The Phoenix has risen at UTampa.

Updated: Sep 24

The Phoenix has risen! Ancient Greeks wrote of the Phoenix, a mythical firebird that obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessors. The Phoenix represents transformation, death, and rebirth in its fire.

The 100+ Florida Chi Alumni Association brothers welcome these 17 new brothers to the realm of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. After recruitment week, these men chose to lead the Florida Chi Chapter of SAE at UTampa into the future.

Florida Chi Alumni brother, Don Kunian ('92) stated, "These men have the opportunity to do great things with this chapter, and I believe they will." Brother Kunian continued, "I've met a number of these new brothers, and they showed me the tenacity and commitment it takes to succeed in both chapter activity, and throughout their lives."

Cullen Kerigan, Director of Growth at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon National Office, stated "This is a fantastic start, and the guys are hungry to continue to grow." Brother Kerigan continued, "We've still got some work ahead with elections, chapter & financial education, and management, but these men are up to the task."

"This is the first chapter of SAE to grace the UTampa campus in over 30 years," stated Mark Turner, Chairman of the Florida Chi Alumni Association, "and after meeting these men, I am confident that these new brothers will adhere to the creed of 'The True Gentleman,' and this emerging chapter will accomplish great things in academics, public service and leadership."
