On Sunday, February 16th, the Florida Chi Emerging Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at UTampa has been unanimously approved by the Sigma Alpha Epsilon National Office for charter consideration.
In order to be considered for full charter status," said Eminent Archon Trevor Sandler ('25), "the brothers must go through a 3-step process," Sandler continued, "First, we succesfully published a written 164-page review covering all elements of effective chapter management, including academic support, financial reviews, recruitment, health and safety protocols, alumni relations, diversity, intramurals, short, medium and long term goals, as well as a host of other elements." Sandler concluded, "The Investigative Team could not have been more appreciative, and offered us some helpful tips that will help guide us into the future of our chapter."
"The second step is an oral presentation," stated Chapter Advisor Mark Turner ('83) "The undergraduate brothers showcased their speaking skills with a successful 90 minute Power Point speech." said Turner. "The Investigative Team of alumni that listened to their pitch are from the SAE National office and various chapters throughout the realm. The charter bid proposal speeches were presented by the Florida Chi Executive Team, and a large number of the committee chairmen. Turner concluded, "As a result, the Investigative Team had nothing but glowing remarks on both content and detail. Their demonstration was a complete success."
The 3rd and final step is a vote from the entire realm of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. This process takes roughly 2-3 weeks. Attention all SAE alumni brothers! Preliminary plans are being set in place in anticipation of a Charter Initiation Banquet/Weekend, so save the date of April 25-27, and pencil in that weekend. Details to follow soon.
