Florida Chi Chapter helps 4 public service charities in November.

Congratulations to the Florida Chi Emerging Chapter at UTampa for serving the Tampa Bay community with an astounding four philanthropic efforts in November.

Trevor Sandler, the Eminent Archon for the Florida Chi Emerging Chapter stated, "Public service has it's own set of challenges," Sandler continued, "as many non-profits don't know what to do with 46 brothers." Trevor emphasized, "so we 'divide and conquer' with numerous philanthropic events and the brothers can choose the public service that best fits their academic schedule." The four events were:

The SAE Thanksgiving Food Drive: This service event had the brothers gathering food for the less fortunate this holiday season. All donations were given to Metropolitan Ministries for local Tampa Bay residents.

Hurricane Milton Relief: The Florida Chi Chapter partnered with the Hillsborough River State Park Preservation Society to clean up the Ft. Foster Historic Site. Not only did the brothers help clean up after Hurricane Milton, they were provided a few history lessons about Tampa Bay during the clean up.

The Veteran's Day Murph Challenge: In honor of the 249th Marine Corps birthday, the Florida Chi brothers participated in a modified Murph Challenge of a mile run, pull ups, push ups, and squats. This was done in honor of LT Michael Murphy who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005. This builds awareness of his scholarship program awarded to veterans and military families.

Spray An SAE: This event celebrates "Movember," a fund raising philanthropy to raise money and awareness of men's health issues including prostate and testicular cancer, mental heath and suicide prevention.

The SAE-Florida Chi Emerging Chapter is doing an incredible job serving the Tampa Bay community," stated Eminent Chronicler Chris Verdon, "The emerging brothers are giving back to the Tampa Bay community," Verdon continued, "and I hope this gives all SAE brothers/alumni and the UTampa family a sense of appreciation and pride in our work."
